Originally from the west suburbs of Chicago, Katie Teesdale received a BFA with honors in Ceramics and a Teacher Education Program certificate from the University of Iowa.

Katie has taught and supported various ceramic and education programs in the midwest and east coast. Before coming to Minnesota, she was the Education Assistant for Outreach at The Clay Studio in Philadelphia, PA- helping to manage a mobile ceramics program serving over 1000 students every 10 weeks.

From 2016-2017, Katie was the Emerging Artist with the Clay Coyote in Hutchinson MN, where she focused on managing a small business. Before joining GRRL, Katie taught ceramics and sculpture at Dassel-Cokato High School in Cokato, MN from 2016-2022.

Currently Katie is the Library Services Coordinator at the Buffalo branch of Great River Regional Library and runs her own small business-- Teesdale Studios in Dassel, MN.
